Makan-Makan trip 2

I went for some typical Malaysia food. It’s a lil but pricey since I had it in sophisticated restaurant. What would be the first come to your mind when you think of mouth-watering Malaysia foods? Roti Canai? Teh Tarik? Nasi Lemak? Chao Kui Teow? Asam Laksa? Yeah~~~ You’re right! I went for the most representational one – Nasi Lemak. The venue was Madam Kwan’s restaurant that is located in KLCC.

I ordered a Nasi Bojari and my friend just ordered a Nasi Lemak. I like the rice of Nasi Bojari cause the fragrance. The rendang beef was so tender that you don't even have to bite, the nyonya sambal prawn was not too hot and not too sour, just nice, the fried chicken drumstick was just so so. For the Nasi Lemak, if the rice is not fragrance and not flavor enough, then no matter how delicious the side dishes is, it's still cannot be considered as a good Nasi Lemak. Madam Kwan's Nasi Lemak was nice too, but the coconut milk in the rendang chicken was too strong for me. The sambal sauce was same with the nyonya sambal prawn of Nasi Bojari. I like the spicy vegetables---> "Ah Chak". It's a lil bit weird that they used the spicy chicken flossy serve with the Nasi Lemak. Neverthelss, it didn't affect the taste overall, yet the taste was quite unique when you eat with the spicy chicken flossy.

Then we ordered fresh mango juice and apple juice respectively. I had no comment on it since the juices were so so and pricey. I still prefer the 1 liter juices at the Subang Jaya mamak stall which is located near the Salmon Steak house. Cheap and nice! For those who always hangout in Subang Jaya should know where the mamak stall is.

Last but not least, we had a dessert which was fried banana with vanilla ice-cream. The banana fried until golden color was crispy but not too oily. There was some honey on the fried banana. It was so indescribable when you eat the very hot fried banana with the icy vanilla ice-cream. Can you imagine that the hot and cold are rolling in your mouth? Fantastic...
<------It looks not so presentable but it taste good.... Overall was still okay. Can give it a try but just once in a while since it's quite pricey just for a single plate of Nasi Lemak. I always read the newspaper stated that the economy was slump and inflation, and the increasing of poverty blah blah blah.... But when come to these sophisticated restaurant, you need to wait for like at least 15 minutes to be seated during the lunch time and dinner time. Live to eat? or eat to live? Oh oh... I bought some Vienna Bagels after the dinner. I don't like it. It's so hard that if you drop it on the floor, you would hear the sound "POP". The taste didn't give me a good impression. It looks nice but actually not... What a disappointed for my makan-makan trip ending!

My makan-makan trip

After my little farewell dinner, I started my makan-makan trip for few days before I leave to Singapore. I went shopping with my friend, Jack. We walked to Alor Street for Asam Laksa and Pan Mee, but the food stall still has not start the business yet since we reached there too early. We just grabbed some snacks on the roadside since we were freaking hungry. We found a food stall which sold Chinese traditional fried pastry. It’s surprisingly very nice. It’s damn nice! Perhaps we were too hungry, but it’s really delicious.

The variety of foods. Looks irresistible. And the here is the menu--->

We bought one of each. Oh man! It's really nice, especially it's still hot. It's savory and a little bit crispy but not too greasiness, just nice.

It's just located opposite the KFC restaurant which is opposite the BB plaza. You will see many people are buying these nice foods there. You guys can check it out.

After the nostalgic Chinese traditional snacks, I wanted to have some sweet stuff and I found a Turkish ice-cream stall right in front of BB plaza. The owner was quite funny, he would sing a Turkish song but like he was mumbling more than singing. LOL. And he rang the bell when he sold one ice-cream. The ice-cream is so soft, smooth and a little bit sticky due to the content of oxygen in ice-cream is very low. It's a good choice after meal and under a burning sun.

We went shopping with stuffed tummy even though it was just our tea snack.

My little farewell dinner

C’est La Vie!

Porkielicious~~~~! After my last working day, I had my farewell dinner in a German restaurant which is introduced by Kai Jie last time. I’ve been here few times and I like the tasty food and the sophisticated atmosphere here, so I’ve decided to have my farewell dinner here. I’ve been looking forward this dinner since 2 weeks ago; I’ve to ensure everyone could come for it. So is that’s it? Hell no! That’s a long piece of story. But I will just tell you the pick of the basket about the food we had.

Well, it’s not a strangeness place for since I’ve been here before. So I know what to order for my buddies tonight. It would be a suckling pig and pork knuckle for sure. Then we had special of the day, grill pork shoulder steak with unknown grass served with salad, and grill bacon with anchovies served with potatoes and vegetable salad. That’s awesome!

We ordered some drinks, cooler summer and love at the summer for ladies who didn’t take alcohol. Then we shared two bottles of different Deutsch beer, Dunkel (dark German beer) and an unknown Weiss beer. It tasted marvelous. Smell gently and taste light.

This was my first time to use the plate to cut the piggy. The chef just wanted to let us know that the suckling pig was so so crispy that even could be cut by a plate. I had to break the plate after cut the piggy. This is the Spanish tradition which means that it would bring prosperity for all of us, love, comradeship and family.

All of us enjoyed our meal so much. It tasted so good. We took countless pictures since we had three cameras which are brought from Bryan Chiang (Nikon), Bryan Chua (Canon) and me (Olympus). Oh yeah, there were three “Bryan” during the dinner. Bryan Chiang, my buddy since my high school. Bryan Chua, we worked together and become good friend. Brian Ng, who is Cheryl’s boyfriend, he is a nice guy though. Hence, it was a lil bit confusing when we just called Bryan. LOL.

Last but not least, I ordered a soft and light dessert since the foods were a lil bit greasy. The dessert is named Werner’s and Andrew’s Special. It’s a combination of two desserts which is Werner’s Special (raspberry ice-cream and vanilla ice-cream served with fresh strawberry), and Andrew’s Special (vanilla ice-cream and chocolate mousse served with passion fruits). Werner is the owner and the executive chef of the restaurant, and Andrew is his nephew who is a chef but more in serve customer in restaurant. Okay. Enough for introduce of dessert. Let’s try. It was tasty and savory due to the sour of raspberry and strawberry, then light sweet of the passion fruits and vanilla ice-cream and finally, the sweet of chocolate mousse were awesome, yummmmy…it tasted from sour to sweet hiberarchyly. It’s indescribable. We had complimentary aperitif that was mixed by Martini, Vodka, white wine and lime juice. It’s just nice. We were stuffed. We really had a good time. We sit and talked about food, camera, life, jokes. We really had a good time.

After the last bite of the irresistible dessert in this indelibility friends gathering dinner also known as my farewell dinner under the sophisticated environment. My dearest friends, for our family, for our friends, for ourselves, let’s cheers for our life! The dinner cost 752RM. Yawn~~~~ definitely once-in-a-blue-moon indulge. Life without money is worthless. Life without sex is meaningless. Life without friend is lifeless. LOL. Take care my friends, hope we can sit together again blowing water while enjoying the tasty foods. Cheers. Nothing is better than enjoying good foods under a classy and cozy restaurant with my mates. C’est La Vie. So long!

Hi, Apa khabar, 你好, Salut, Hola, Guten Tag, Sawat dee, Konichiwa....

I finally have my own blog. Sorry for those who was looking forward to my blog for so long. So called “beer and skittles life” is not because I spend my entire time hangout at the pub. Another meaning for this is life of “eat, drink, play and fun”. Life isn’t that long, so we have to fully “utilize” it. I wanted to post all my diaries that about my traveling and food to this blog to share with you all. Nevertheless, my hard drive got some problem and cannot run. What a pity! Anyway, I’ll try my best to upload more about my makan-makan trip in Kuala Lumpur before I come to Singapore and all sort of things and happening events that I've been gone through in Singapore.

Other than that, I will also share some of my food recipe with you all since I am studying culinary art in Singapore. Looking forward to it. I'm great in Singapore so far.
