My first Dim Sum in Singapore

Few days later, I finally got a chance to go out of the house and went for some so called nice food.

I joined my sister, my brother-in-law and his sibling family for a dim sum buffet as our high tea at Teahouse in China Square. This was my first time to eat dim sum in Singapore. So I was looking forward to have some good quality dim sum.

The atmosphere was not too bad, it was cozy and comfortable. We had salmon “Yu Sheng” since it was Chinese New Year. This dish was a traditional food of Chinese which mean it would bring you prosperity after ate it. It’s tasted not bad too.

We started had our dim sum after the “Yu Sheng”. We took everything they had. The most common type of dim sum were Char Xiu Bao (steamed barbecued pork bun), Siu Mai (Steamed pork dumplings with crab roe), Ha Kao (steamed prawn dumpling), Feng Zao (braised chicken claws), fried spring roll and so on.

So called dim sum, but they didn’t offer the typical dim sum like Lo Mai Gai (steamed sticky rice with chicken), and egg tart. Kinda disappointed. I liked the deep-fried bean curd skin rolls with prawn among all the dim sum. Most of the dim sum were made by pork and prawn. It tasted not bad, the flavor was there, and probably they add too much MSG inside the ingredients. Basically the prawns were not fresh enough. The meat of prawn was not firm, no texture at all. Nevertheless, it was still satisfy my desperate for dim sum since I have never eat dim sum for more than a year. The most delicious dim sum I have eaten so far was in Ipoh. I miss it so much.

After that, we went to the Chinese New Year function that was held near Marina Bay. The main purpose was just wanna have a walk since everyone was stuffed. It was nothing special though, since the weather was freaking hot and it was floated by crowd. I was wandering around and saw some decoration. There was a giant wealthy god. The god looks upset and he was slim, didn’t has the wealthy and prosperity feeling at all. But there was a real wealthy god to who was really fat but a little bit “shemale” feeling. Haha. You will know when you saw the picture. After that we just went home and took a good rest. Nonetheless, this outing had brought me Chinese New Year feel.
